Westminster became first school other than Tustin to beat Servite in the Golden West League. The Lions did so on Friday as Coburn passed for 299 yards and three touchdowns, covering 62, 13 and 54 yards, in a 34-23 victory at Cal State Fullerton to spoil the Friars’ homecoming. He completed 14 of 22 passes and put Lions in position for league’s final playoff berth with a victory this week over Tustin. In the process, Coburn broke the school’s single-season record for touchdowns (14); he now has 17.
