Billingsley, a sophomore, won her second consecutive South Coast League girls’ title on Friday in fairly spectacular fashion, breaking the course record at Laguna Niguel Park. She covered the three-mile layout in 18 minutes 1 second, breaking the record of 18:12 set by Irvine’s Kelly Roda in 1990. In doing so, Billingsley helped Mission Viejo win its first girls’ title this decade. She finished 24 seconds better than the second place time, and now holds three course records, including Trabuco Hills and Capistrano Valley.
