Hornets Still Have Shot at Division Title
Two consecutive overtime victories have given Fullerton something to play for.
The Hornets (3-5, 2-1) host Riverside (2-6, 1-2) at 7 tonight in a Mission Conference Central Division game. Fullerton is one game out of first place with two left but finishes the season against first-place Palomar.
The Hornets are coming off a 58-52, three-overtime victory over Saddleback. Fullerton trailed by 21 points with 12 minutes 19 seconds left before rallying.
Quarterback Kevin Rodriguez had his best performance of the season, throwing for a season-high 259 yards and two touchdowns, including one in overtime.
In other Central Division games: Golden West (0-8, 0-3) plays Santa Ana (2-6, 2-1) at 1 p.m. at Santa Ana Stadium and Palomar (7-1, 3-0) is at Saddleback (1-7, 1-2) at 7 p.m.
Orange Coast (3-5, 0-3) is at Mt. San Antonio (6-2, 2-1) at 7 p.m. in a Northern Division game.
