Schea Cotton had 28 points and 11 rebounds to help Long Beach defeat Riverside, 77-62, in a first round game at the Bill Mulligan Classic men’s basketball tournament at Irvine Valley College. In another first-round game, Canyons defeated Irvine Valley, 72-69. Ben Esplin scored 23 points for Irvine Valley.
