Boller Throws for Five Scores and Hart Levels Highland, 56-6

Record-setting quarterback Kyle Boller passed for 342 yards and five touchdowns in Hart High’s 56-6 blowout of Highland in the first round of the Southern Section Division III playoffs Friday night at College of the Canyons.

The Indians will play St. Francis in the second round Friday.

Boller, who completed 21 of 33 passes, increased his Southern Section record for touchdown passes in season to 51, one short of the state record.

Boller’s 32-yard touchdown run in the second quarter gave Hart (9-2) a 28-0 lead.

On the Indians’ first possession, Billy Brecht scored on a 57-yard run.

Boller followed a one-yard touchdown pass to Shane Lavoie and a 70-yard bomb to Jake Halladay.

Following his touchdown run, Boller threw a one-yard scoring pass to Brecht to give Hart a 35-0 lead at the half.

In the third quarter, Boller added a two-yard touchdown pass to Halladay and a 10-yard scoring toss to Chris Ciccone.

Hart amassed 525 yards.

The Indians held Highland (3-8) to 125 yards, including 53 in the first half.

Tyrone Brown, who rushed for 111 yards, scored for the Bulldogs on a 16-yard run in the fourth quarter.
