Courtney Guerra had 26 kills to lead top-seeded Simi Valley Royal to a 15-7, 6-15, 15-11, 16-14 victory over Huntington Beach Marina for the Southern Section Division I-A title at Cypress College.

The Highlanders (31-4) won their first section championship since 1989 and avenged a loss to Marina (19-2) in the semifinals last season.

Santa Margarita won its third consecutive title, defeating Cypress, 15-10, 15-6, 13-15, 15-11, in the Division II-AA final.

It was the fifth consecutive section title for Santa Margarita Coach Eddie Rapp, who has directed the boys’ team to consecutive championships.

Top-seeded La Habra defeated second-seeded Lakewood St. Joseph, 13-15, 14-16, 15-10, 15-11, 15-5, in Division II-A.

Junior middle blocker Katie Olsovsky had 19 kills and nine blocks and top-seeded Torrance Bishop Montgomery (24-6) avenged a five-game loss to Huntington Beach Ocean View in last year’s championship match with a 15-3, 15-13, 15-9 Division III-AA victory.

Harvard-Westlake captured its third title in four seasons, defeating Notre Dame Academy, 15-11, 15-12, 15-6, in Division III-A.

Stacey Rouwenhorst had 23 kills for Cerritos Valley Christian (29-0), which was extended to more than three games for the first time this season in beating Santa Ana Calvary Chapel, 15-3, 9-15, 10-15, 15-5, 15-8, in the Division IV-AA final.

Jenna Grigsby had 15 kills and six aces and Niki Tourtelot and Alexis Zimbalist each had 12 kills for Brentwood in an 11-15, 15-13, 15-6, 15-10 over Marlborough Friday night in the Division IV-A final at Cypress College.

Senior outside hitter Anna Sones had 14 kills and senior middle blocker Lisa Caldwell had nine kills for defending champion Pasadena Poly (21-3) in a 15-5, 15-6, 15-8 victory over San Pedro Mary Star in Division V-AA.

Baptist Christian won the Division V-A title by defeating Desert Christian, 15-12, 15-7, 15-10.
