Montclair Prep 17, Kilpatrick 0--Gary Sonkur rushed for 170 yards in 28 carries, including two 16-yard touchdown runs, to lead the Mounties (3-1) at Valley College.

Sonkur’s first touchdown run capped Montclair Prep’s opening possession, a 72-yard drive in which he accounted for 60 yards. Sonkur’s scoring run in the fourth quarter followed a fumble by Kilpatrick (1-3) that was recovered by Ronald Adams Jr.

Arash Markazi is a former sports columnist with the Los Angeles Times. Before that, he was a senior writer at ESPN for nine years. Markazi grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from USC in 2004, after which he worked as a staff writer for Sports Illustrated for five years.
