Regarding your piece on the end of Prairie View A&M;’s losing streak [Oct. 2], writer Chris Dufresne quoted that school’s athletic director as saying, “This has to be the greatest relief since the discovery of all.”

Now, I grew up in the Bronx and am no expert on regional American accents. Still, it seems to me that the only way that sentence makes any sense is if the AD was talking, in that unique way people in the Lone Star state do, about black gold, Texas tea--namely, “the discovery of oil.” Now, don’t that beat all?
