A pair of long touchdowns and Amir Rahman’s two fourth-quarter touchdown runs knocked Crespi High from the ranks of the undefeated Friday night.

Kevin Boyer ran for 82 yards on the first play from scrimmage and Robert Lewis’ 56-yard, third-quarter touchdown pass play to Sean Weston led Serra to a 34-21 victory over the Celts in a nonleague game at Serra.

After trailing, 14-0, early in the first quarter, Evan Driedger’s 36-yard field goal on the first drive in the second half pulled Crespi to within 14-13.

Serra (4-2), ranked No. 5 in Southern Section Divison VII, responded on the ensuing possession with Weston taking Lewis’ pass near the Crespi 40 and eluding two defenders en route to the end zone.

The Cavaliers increased their lead to 27-13 on Rahman’s 16-yard touchdown run with just over nine minutes remaining, capping a six-play, 76-yard drive helped by two pass-interference penalties.

The Celts (5-1), ranked No. 3 in Division III, answered with Robert Muller’s 24-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Carden and a two-point conversion pass from Muller to Chris Naylon.

However, Crespi’s defense was unable to stop Serra, with Rahman capping a 12-play, 81-yard drive with a one-yard run with 2:00 to play.

Muller completed 11 of 16 passes for 212 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown pass to Naylon in the second quarter.
