Desert 33, Bell-Jeff 24--Running back Justin Arola scored three touchdowns in leading the Scorpions to their first victory in 31 games. Desert scored 26 unanswered points after trailing 24-7 with 4:35 left in the first half at Burroughs High.
The loss overshadowed a strong performance by Bell-Jeff wingback Edward Chaidez, who rushed for 160 yards in 29 carries. Chaidez opened the scoring with a 14-yard run late in the first period.
