Mike Campbell scored 2:31 into the fourth overtime to give Agoura High a 10-9 victory over Buena in a nonleague water polo match Tuesday at Buena.
Hans Larsen scored for Agoura (1-1) with 17 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game at 7-7.
The teams remained tied, 9-9, after two three-minute overtime periods and a scoreless sudden-death period, before Campbell hit the game winner in the second sudden-death period.
In another high school water-polo game:
Burbank Burroughs 22, Crescenta Valley 20--Jason Falitz scored 12 goals and the Indians outlasted the Falcons in a nonleague opener for both teams at Crescenta Valley.
Falitz, a junior two-meter man, tallied six of Burroughs’ seven third-quarter goals.
MEN’S WATER POLO
Valley 10, El Camino 8--Josh Wilson scored for Valley with three minutes left to break an 8-8 tie and Ryan Rittmiller scored at the buzzer to seal the nonconference victory at El Camino College.
Loran Leidinger had four goals for the Monarchs (3-2) and Rittmiller had three. El Camino falls to 2-3.
WOMEN’S WATER POLO
Valley 16, El Camino 5--Stephanie Hammer had three of her seven goals in the first quarter and Melissa Minkey made 11 saves for Valley (3-2) in a nonconference victory at El Camino College.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Ventura 6, Canyons 0--Chrissy Sanford scored twice to lead the Pirates (4-0-1) to a Western State Conference victory at Ventura.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Calabasas 12, Louisville 6--Sophomore Andrea Leewong and junior Brittany Bierman lost only one game at No. 2 doubles for host Calabasas (2-0) in a nonleague match.
Agoura 15, Royal 3--Brooke Borisoff and Alyson Tyson each swept in singles play for the Chargers (3-0, 1-0) in a Marmonte League opener at Agoura. Each player improved to 9-0 this season.
Simi Valley 12, San Marcos 6--Margo O’Donnell and Andrea Espinoza won, 6-2, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 1 doubles and Rebecca Hanau and Stella Chu won, 6-0, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 2 doubles to lift the Pioneers (2-0) in a nonleague match at Rancho Simi Community Park.
Westlake 17, Newbury Park 1--Audra Dickey did not lose a game at No. 2 singles to lead an all-freshman singles sweep for Westlake (2-0, 1-0) in a Marmonte League opener at Newbury Park (1-2, 0-1).
Campbell Hall 17, Village Christian 1--Melissa Nguyen swept her sets without losing a game for the Vikings (3-0), including a rare “golden set” victory over Lori Simpson in a nonleague match at Freemont Park in Glendale.
A golden set is when a player sweeps without losing a point.
Buena 12, Hart 6--The Indians (0-2) were hurting in singles, winning just two sets in a nonleague match at Buena (2-0) with sophomore Jenny Munroe sitting out to nurse a sore quadriceps and regular No. 3 singles player Sara Jones sitting out because of shoulder pain.
