Verbum Dei 25, Palmdale 24--Safeties in the first and fourth quarters on Palmdale punts helped host Verbum Dei, which outgained Palmdale (2-1), 375 yards to 207.
With 5:37 to play, a punt snap sailed out of the end zone to give Verbum Dei (2-1) the winning margin.
Marquis Murray rushed for touchdowns of 15 and 23 yards in the second quarter to give Palmdale a 14-9 halftime lead. Murray rushed for 87 yards in 10 carries.
The Falcons extended the lead to 24-15 in the third quarter on a 39-yard field goal by Anthony Valentino and a 23-yard scoring run by John Thompson.
