Southern Section Honors Udeze, Jones and Ward

Omelogo Udeze of Harvard-Westlake High has been selected Southern Section Division III girls’ basketball player of the year, and Nick Jones and B.J. Ward of Santa Clara were selected Division V boys’ co-players of the year.

Udeze, The Times’ Valley player of the year, led Harvard-Westlake to the state Division III final. Jones and Ward paced the Saints to the Division V state title.

Players from the region selected to division all-star teams:

Boys’ Division I: Rafael Berumen and Branduinn Fullove of Simi Valley. Division III: Scott Borchart and Cayce Cook of Chaminade, Devin Montgomery and Reggie Kinlaw of Alemany, Russell Lakey of Harvard-Westlake, Etienne Emanuel of Nordhoff. Division IV: Marcin Jagoda of Crespi and Glenn Jones of Paraclete. Division V: Terrance Dosty of Santa Clara, Hassan Bassiri of Campbell Hall, Matthew Nurse of Antelope Valley Christian.

Girls’ Division I: Jaline Bradley of Channel Islands, Sinnamonn Garrett of Crescenta Valley, Kelly Greathouse at Buena.

Division II: Damaris Hinojosa of Moorpark. Division III: Kate Beckler of Alemany, Courtney Adams of La Canada, Christen Roper of Nordhoff, Brooke Porter of Harvard-Westlake. Division IV: Jennie Lee Greslie of Village Christian, Stacey Howard of St. Bonaventure. Division V: Emily Abrams of Campbell Hall, Ashley Biggins of Santa Clara.
