Simi Valley 111, Thousand Oaks 84--Brett Michel scored 23 of his 32 points in the first half to help the Pioneers (24-2, 11-0) to a near-record point total in a Marmonte League game at Thousand Oaks.

Top-ranked Simi Valley, which clinched the league title outright, scored a school-record 113 points against Roosevelt earlier this season.

Newbury Park 86, Agoura 64--Brian Polen had 27 points and 16 rebounds to help the Panthers (17-5, 9-2) clinch second place in the Marmonte League at Agoura (13-12, 7-4).

Cleveland 68, Kennedy 61--Kent Dennis had 23 points and six steals for the Cavaliers (19-4, 9-0), ranked No. 5, in a West Valley League victory over Kennedy (13-10, 5-4) at Cleveland.

Chatsworth 74, Taft 72--Ronald Ruffin scored 21 points, Richard Harrison had 17 points and 14 rebounds, and the No. 8-ranked Chancellors (15-3, 6-2) survived a fourth-quarter rally by Taft (11-8, 4-5) at Chatsworth.

Loyola 85, Harvard-Westlake 84--David Salvatore’s put-back basket with two seconds remaining spoiled Harvard-Westlake’s comeback effort in a Mission League game at Loyola.

The Wolverines (14-12, 7-5), who trailed by 12 points in the third quarter, took an 84-83 lead with 20 seconds to play on a three-point play by Eric Geffner.

GIRLS’ GAMES

El Camino Real 61, Taft 55--Karen Shun scored 14 of her 21 points in the second half to help the Conquistadores (20-4, 9-0) come from behind and clinch the West Valley League title at Taft.

Taft (15-4, 7-2) forced No. 7-ranked El Camino Real to rally for a victory in the teams’ first meeting Jan. 29.

Taft handed El Camino Real its only loss in conference play last year in a regular-season finale.

Shun and Leslie Lara, who came off the bench to collect six points and four steals in the second half, made certain there was no repeat.

Grant 99, Van Nuys 32--Natalie Gabor scored a school-record 44 points on 19-of-22 shooting to lead the Lancers over the Wolves (3-16, 1-8) in a Mid-Valley League game at Grant.

Grant (16-8, 8-1) must beat North Hollywood on Friday to get a share of the league title.

North Hollywood 70, Monroe 50--Tashean Thomas scored 17 of her 28 points in the first quarter and the Huskies (19-5, 9-0) clinched a share of the Mid-Valley League title at Monroe (9-12, 5-4).

Birmingham 64, Granada Hills 40--Ofalanga Mailangi had 25 points and 15 rebounds for host Birmingham (13-7, 6-3) in a North Valley League game.

The Patriots double-teamed Kelly Patterson, limiting her to 18 points after she scored 33 to lead Granada Hills (3-6, 8-11) to a victory over Birmingham earlier in the season.

Royal 59, Westlake 37--Mari Myllykoski had 17 points and six steals to help the Highlanders (12-10, 6-5) clinch a playoff berth with a Marmonte League victory at Westlake (8-15, 3-8).

Simi Valley 53, Thousand Oaks 35--Elise Metcalf scored 12 points and the host Pioneers (19-6, 8-3) used a 16-0 run in the third quarter to break open the Marmonte League game.

Channel Islands 66, Oxnard 40--Jaline Bradley scored 23 points and Channel Islands (19-7, 6-2) beat visiting Oxnard (12-14, 6-2) to create a three-way tie for first place with Camarillo.

Buena 57, Rio Mesa 37--Courtney LaVere scored 16 points and the top-ranked Bulldogs (22-3) won a nonleague game at Buena.
