Ventura 62, Don Lugo 51--Ventura broke open a close game in the final minutes after Don Lugo junior Diana Taurasi, one of the top players in the nation, fouled out.

Taurasi was in foul trouble most of the game, picking up her third foul midway through the second quarter. She still scored 26 points, despite strong defensive efforts from Ventura players Estelle Diaz, Candace Andrews and Aliza Richman. Don Lugo was seeded second.

Ventura (20-10) had a 25-17 rebounding advantage with Kristine Gleisberg pulling down 10 and scoring a team-high 17 points. The Cougars also committed only six turnovers--just one in the second half--to Don Lugo’s 18.

Richman and Alex Gientke each had 13 points for Ventura.

DIVISION V-AA

Santa Clara 43, Pacific Hills 30--Jennifer Mullen scored eight of her 13 points in the fourth period and the Saints (12-11) pulled away at home.

Santa Clara got a game-high 14 points from Nicole Palomares and 12 points and 15 rebounds from Ashley Biggins.

Webb 49, Desert Christian 20--Meko Winbush, who was averaging 17 points a game for Desert Christian (16-7), was held to five points. Teammate Sara Jackson had six points and 13 rebounds.

Capistrano Valley Christian 41, Grace Brethren 28--Katie Hunt scored 10 points for Grace Brethren (16-10) in a game at Royal.

Chadwick 69, Campbell Hall 48--Erin Gilliland scored 25 points for defending division champion Chadwick (21-5) in a game at Chadwick.

Lena Carew scored 13 points for Campbell Hall (17-8).

DIVISION II-AA

Moorpark 63, Paso Robles 35--The No. 2-seeded Musketeers played one of their best games of the season at Agoura High.

Damaris Hinojosa, who has signed a letter of intent with Pepperdine, had 23 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists, six steals and four blocked shots for Moorpark (25-2).

The Musketeers will play No. 3-seeded Santa Ana Foothill in a semifinal on Saturday.

“We were kind of embarrassed with the way we played against Whittier,” Coach Brent Milburn of Moorpark said. “So we wanted to be more aggressive this game and I think we did that.”

DIVISION IV-AA

St. Paul 67, Paraclete 46--Jackie Kolesar had 16 points for Paraclete, but the Spirits (17-8) were hurt by the absence of starting guard Erika Hernandez, who was out with an injured ankle.

Twentynine Palms 62, Louisville 50--Siobhan Finn had 12 points and Chantal Kazay added 11 points for Louisville, but the Royals (16-11) fell at Calabasas High.

DIVISION IV-A

Santa Ana Calvary Chapel 55, St. Bonaventure 39--Stacey Howard scored 15 points for the Seraphs (16-10) in a loss at Estancia.

St. Bernard 68, Village Christian 28-- Jennie Lee Greslie had eight points and 11 rebounds for Village Christian (14-13).
