Two men died of gunshot wounds over the weekend after shots were fired during an argument at a crowded party, police said.

Jose Chica, 19, of Sun Valley died at the scene of the shooting, which took place about 11 p.m. Saturday at a home on the 10600 block of Nettleton Street, said LAPD Det. Miles Taylor.

Christian Reynoso, 21, of Arleta died about 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center.

“There were a fair number of people at the party, which was taking place outside the house,” said Taylor, of the Foothill Division of the Los Angeles Police Department.

“There was an argument, and we don’t know what it was over. It ended in shots being fired.”

After the shooting, most of the partygoers fled and few witnesses have stepped forward to tell police what they saw, Taylor said.

Taylor said he did not know who Chica and Reynoso were arguing with when they were shot, and it was unclear whether there was more than one assailant.

Anyone with information is asked to call Foothill Division detectives at (818) 834-3115.
