Chaminade 10, Palmdale 7--Junior catcher Jonathan Higashi hit a grand slam in the seventh and finished with two home runs and seven RBIs to help the Eagles (2-0) win at Palmdale.

Chris Testa hit his second home run of the season, a two-run blast in the sixth inning, to give Palmdale (1-1) a 7-6 lead.

Westlake 17, St. Francis 3--John Shepard had three hits and three RBIs, and the Warriors (1-0-1) hit six home runs, including four during a 10-run first inning, to win at Westlake.

Harvard Westlake 8, Calabasas 1--Dave Milken hit a three-run home run in the first inning and had three stolen bases for the Wolverines at Calabasas (1-1).

In El Segundo tournament games:

Agoura 2, Burroughs 0--Michael Falco hit a home run in the first inning and struck out two batters in the seventh to pick up the save, and the Chargers advanced to the quarterfinals.

Brian Ashford pitched six shutout innings for Agoura (2-0), allowing five hits.

Royal 11, Long Beach Poly 1--Ryan Wilson’s two-run home run in the fifth inning gave the Highlanders a 10-run lead and ended the second-round game at Royal because of the mercy rule.

Brian Lipman homered in the second inning for Royal (2-0), and Scott Rice pitched a three-hitter with five strikeouts.

Crespi 9, Brea Olinda 2--Left-hander Michael Jackson struck out 12 batters in five innings and Joel Garcia contributed three hits for the Celts (2-0) at Brea-Olinda.

Long Beach Millikan 9, Simi Valley 7--David Land had two hits, including a double, to drive in two runs in the fifth, but the Pioneers fell short in the second round at Simi Valley.

In Westside tournament games:

Rio Mesa 22, Redondo Union 20--Isaac Romero drove in seven runs with four hits, including a three-run home run in the seventh that put the Spartans (2-0) ahead to stay at Redondo Union (1-1).

Hart 9, Channel Islands 0--Justin Wiley (1-0) pitched a three-hitter and struck out seven for the Indians at Channel Islands.

Jamie Shields and Chris Giordano each had two hits and two RBIs for Hart (2-0) and Tim Hutting added two hits.

Sylmar 11, Ventura 1--Eddie Camacho scattered five hits with three strikeouts and one walk for the Spartans in a mercy-rule victory called after five innings.

Sylmar (1-1) played without three starters who were among seven players late for a morning workout.

Filling in was Hector Chavez, who hit two doubles. Ivan Hernandez had three hits for the Spartans.

Saugus 13, Malibu 9--Tommy Nelson had three hits, Jeff Mayberry hit two doubles and Wes Travis hit a home run for the Centurions (2-0) at Saugus.

Montclair Prep 9, Morningside 6--Yuki Sano struck out 12 and walked four in a nine-hitter to help the Mounties (1-1) win.

Sano had two hits and two RBIs.

Chatsworth 6, Bishop Montgomery 1--Ryan Robbins pitched a two-hitter with six strikeouts and three walks, Jason Spector had three hits and Mike Kunes drove in two runs with two singles for the Chancellors (2-0) at Chatsworth.

In the Glendora tournament:

Crescenta Valley 5, San Gabriel 1--Jordan Olson, an All-Southern Section pitcher, struck out eight in five innings, and Tim Balkey had two hits in a victory for the defending Division I champions.
