Chatsworth Has Way With Granada Hills

Steve Kracow homered, doubled and singled to lead Chatsworth High over Granada Hills, 9-1, in a Northwest Valley Conference game Friday at Granada Hills.
Chatsworth (18-3, 11-1 in conference play) had 13 hits off three pitchers. Mike Kunes, who had four hits, and Matt Fisher each had two doubles.
Scott Sellz threw a three-hitter for the Chancellors.
Thousand Oaks 9, Moorpark 2--John Smith homered for the second game in a row and Thousand Oaks High remained tied for first place in the Marmonte League.
Smith, a senior catcher, had three hits and drove in four runs. The homer was his fifth.
Shortstop Billy Lockin tripled and singled twice for the Lancers (15-5, 7-2) and left-hander Tracy Goebel struck out seven and allowed four hits in six innings.
Royal 7, Newbury Park 2--Dan Woolever’s first home run was a sixth-inning grand slam that helped keep the host Highlanders (14-4-1, 7-2) tied for first in the Marmonte League. Casey O’Quinn had a run-scoring single and a double.
Westlake 14, Agoura 0--Tyler Adamczyk homered and scattered four hits for the host Warriors (14-4-1, 6-3) in a Marmonte League game called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.
Kevin Howard hit a three-run home run, his eighth, and Cory Taillon had two hits for Westlake, which remains one game out of first place.
Crescenta Valley 3, Hoover 0--Jordan Olson (9-0) struck out 14 and retired the side on strikes in the fourth and seventh innings for Crescenta Valley in a Pacific League game played at Stengel Field in Glendale.
Tim Balkey hit RBI doubles in the first and fifth innings for Crescenta Valley (17-2, 10-1), ranked No. 2 in the region by The Times.
Hart 11, Saugus 0--Marke Horvat’s three-run home run was among four homers by the Indians in a Foothill League game called after five innings at Hart. Nolan Lamar and Matt Friedrichsen each had two-run homers and Jamie Shields had a solo homer.
Justin Wiley (7-1) struck out five and walked none.
Valencia 15, Burbank 5--Chris Rippe hit two home runs and a sacrifice fly to drive in six runs for Valencia (12-7-1, 5-5-1) in a Foothill League game called after 4 1/2 innings.
Chris Cornell tripled and doubled, David Clark had two hits and scored three runs and Luis Velasquez homered for Valencia.
Camarillo 9, Channel Islands 3--Garrett Valencia pitched six innings, giving up four hits and striking out five for his fifth win of the season for host Camarillo in a Pacific View League game. Valencia also hit a two-run single during Camarillo’s eight-run third inning.
Kevin Brown hit a two-run home run during the third inning for Camarillo (17-4, 7-1).
Hueneme 5, Oxnard 3--Rudy Lopez Jr. (3-0) struck out five and Mike Serrata had two hits and drove in one run for the host Vikings (9-8, 4-4) in a Pacific View League victory.
Dennis Martinez collected two hits and an RBI for Oxnard (8-10-1, 3-5).
Alemany 13, Harvard-Westlake 7--Josh Marx had three hits and the Indians (12-10, 4-4) hit five home runs in a Mission League game at Alemany.
Oak Park 9, Bishop Diego 5--Collin Ozar had three hits and pitched a complete game with five strikeouts for host Oak Park (10-5-1, 7-1) in a Tri-Valley League game.
Blake Nelson had three hits, including a triple, and scored two runs. Cory Boldroff had two hits and drove in two runs.
St. Bonaventure 7, Carpinteria 3--David Garcia hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning for visiting St. Bonaventure (8-9, 4-4) in a Tri-Valley League game.
Montclair Prep 12, Whitney 3--Yuki Sano struck out 15 and Brian Trump was four for four for the Mounties (4-13, 2-4) in a Delphic League game at Whitney.
