While Saugus continues to roll on the strength of David Parker’s passing, the Centurions’ ground game may be the best kept secret in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Running back Brett Draimin, who rushed for a season-high 167 yards last week in a 48-37 Division III quarterfinal victory over Highland, has four consecutive 100-yard games after gaining only 305 yards in the first eight games.

In November, Draimin has rushed for 530 yards in 55 carries for a 9.6 yards-per-carry average.

“The draw has just worked well the last month,” Saugus Coach Ron Hilton said. “And [Draimin’s] breaking tackles he didn’t break earlier in the year.”
