Ventura def. Dos Pueblos, 15-5, 15-11, 3-15, 15-4--Alex Gientke had 12 kills and five blocks for the Cougars (1-2, 1-1) in a Channel League victory at Dos Pueblos.
Natasha Ikeda and Kim Ferguson, Ventura’s back-court tandem, controlled the pace of the match with even distribution to Gientke and Samantha Waldron, who had 13 kills.
Westlake def. Moorpark, 15-5, 15-11, 15-7--Alexis Varian had 11 kills, Katie Meledy and Lauren Mills each added 10 and the Warriors (2-0, 1-0) won a Marmonte League match at Moorpark.
Tawnie Thorp had 27 assists for Westlake.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Westlake 9, Agoura 9--Lauren Baer and Lindsay Weiss swept three doubles sets to help the Warriors win on games, 80-79, in a Marmonte League match at Agoura.
Lauren Cardoni won two of three sets for Westlake (3-0).
Brooke Borisoff of Agoura, defending Marmonte League singles’ champion, swept her three sets for the Chargers (1-2).
BOYS’ WATER POLO
Burroughs 15, Whittier 10--Jason Falitz scored nine goals to help the Indians win a nonleague match at Sierra Educational Center in Whittier.
Kenny Livas had four goals, two assists and eight steals for Burroughs (9-2).
GIRLS’ GOLF
Notre Dame 158, Flintridge Sacred Heart 159--Sophomore Nikki Imaromna of Notre Dame shot 45 in a Mission League match at Chevy Chase Country Club and was the medalist for a third consecutive match.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Ventura 0, Canyons 0--Jessica Gregg had 14 saves for Canyons (9-0-1, 1-0-1) in a Western State Conference game at Ventura.
Shelly Wilson had seven saves for the Pirates (4-2-2, 1-0-1), who have won 46 of its last 51 conference games (46-2-3).
