Canyons 6, Moorpark 5--Larry Brown was hit by pitch with the bases loaded, scoring Garrett Behnke from third base with the winning run in the 10th inning in a Western State Conference interdivisional game at Canyons (13-11, 9-6).
Josh Block and Brian Fatur hit consecutive home runs in the ninth for Moorpark to tie the score, 5-5.
Pierce 13, Santa Barbara 12--Kona Sampaio hit a three-run double to tie the score in the ninth and scored on a single by Nick Brown in a WSC interdivisional game at Pierce.
Sampaio had two doubles for Pierce (13-10, 9-6).
Valley 7, Ventura 6--Loren Devries scored the go-ahead run on Kevin O’Hara’s squeeze in the ninth for the Monarchs in a WSC interdivisional game at Ventura.
John Mort had three hits for Valley (9-14, 4-11).
HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL
Thousand Oaks 10, Mira Costa 2--Adam Leavitt had four hits and Ian Corso hit a pinch, two-run home run in the sixth inning for the Lancers in a quarterfinal game of the Redondo Union tournament.
Greg Simonetti (5-1) allowed two hits and struck out three in six innings for Thousand Oaks (11-2).
HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL
Cerritos 1, Hart 0--Julie Hoshizaka scored from third base on a double steal with two out in the first inning in a second-round game of the Fountain Valley tournament at Fountain Valley Recreation Center.
Jessica Vander Linden pitched a four-hitter with 15 strikeouts for Cerritos.
Casey Pickard (1-1) countered with a four-hitter with five strikeouts for the Indians (9-3), ranked fourth in Southern Section Division II and No. 3 in The Times’ regional poll.
Earlier, Sara Dean hit a two-run single and Lindsey Kontra and Jocelyn Evans each had run-scoring singles for Hart in a 4-2 victory over Irvine Woodbridge.
Kontra (3-1) pitched a two-hitter and struck out six.
Camarillo 3, Pacifica 1--Kathryn Nevard threw a four-hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks for Camarillo (16-3) in a second-round game of the Fountain Valley tournament.
