Cal State Fullerton’s Titan Field will be renamed Goodwin Field in a ceremony Saturday night before the Fullerton-Long Beach State baseball game.
The field will be named for Jerry and Merilyn Goodwin, who contributed $1 million to the $3 million expansion of Fullerton’s baseball and softball facilities. The ceremony is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Game time is 7 p.m.
* Amerige Park, scheduled as one of four venues for the National Classic high school baseball tournament, will not be used because of railroad construction.
All games scheduled at Amerige Park have been moved to Champions’ Sports Complex in Placentia. Game times and days remain the same as previously scheduled.
Second-ranked Fountain Valley plays Taylorsville (Utah) at noon Saturday. At 7 p.m., No. 5 Esperanza meets Newburgh (N.Y.) Free Academy.
