Ladycats Can’t Hold Narbonne in Check

Amber Pruitt scored 17 points as Harbor City Narbonne defeated Brea Olinda, 58-44, on Friday to advance to the championship game in the Brea Olinda Ladycat tournament at Brea Olinda High.

Jackie Lord scored 12 points and had six steals for Brea Olinda (2-1), which will play for third place today.

In the Fairmont tournament:

Capistrano Valley Christian 57, Fairmont 33--Bethany Thom had 21 points for visiting Capistrano Valley Christian (8-0).

Elaine Choy had 10 points for Fairmont Prep (3-2).

In the Fountain Valley Lady Baron tournament:

Mater Dei 59, Riverside Poly 49--Tiffany Brooks scored 11 of her 18 points in the fourth quarter, and Jessica Williams had 13 points and 10 rebounds for Mater Dei (4-3), which plays Woodbridge for the title tonight.

No. 6 Woodbridge 77, Murrieta Valley 32--Kelsi Sousa scored 20 points to advance Woodbridge to the championship.

Fountain Valley 64, Ocean View 37--Lulwa Bordcosh had 18 points for Fountain Valley, which outscored Ocean View, 21-9, in the third quarter.

In the Claremont Webb tournament:

Pomona Catholic 49, St. Margaret’s 45--Monique Kettler had 28 points, 19 rebounds and five blocked shots for St. Margaret’s (2-3), which will play for third place today.

Calvary Chapel 51, Century 47--Lindsey Richelli had 23 points and Wendy Tracy scored nine for Calvary Chapel (3-1). Elizabeth Mendoza had five three-pointers and 19 points for Century.

In the San Diego Francis Parker tournament:

Aliso Niguel 43, Washington King’s West 31--Sophomore Julia Pederson scored 17 points for Aliso Niguel. Allison Habekost played a key role in the Wolverine defense, shutting out King’s West leading scorer, Beth Grams. Aliso Niguel will play La Jolla Country Day in the final tonight.

In the University South Coast Holiday tournament:

No. 5 Esperanza 80, Temescal Canyon 39--Bethany Blair and Ashley Van Kurin had 16 points for Esperanza. Van Kurin had four assists and Laura Jacobson had eight rebounds for Esperanza, which will play San Clemente in the final tonight.

No. 4 San Clemente 48, Santa Margarita 34--Megan Blackshire had 16 points and nine rebounds, Lindsey Pluimer had 11 points and Kristin Jenkins had 10 points for San Clemente (4-0).

Thousand Oaks 46, University 37--Senior Kirsten von Tungeln had 31 rebounds for University, breaking her own school record of 29 set last year.

In nonleague girls’ basketball:

Orange 48, Bolsa Grande 41 (OT)--Elizabeth Ngayan scored 12 points for visiting Orange, which outscored Bolsa Grande, 10-3, in overtime.
