* Corona del Mar senior Katie Quinlan has been accepted at Brown, Sea King Coach Bill Sumner said Tuesday.

Quinlan, who led Corona del Mar to Southern Section Division IV and state cross-country titles last season. Corona del Mar seniors Jenny Cummins and Josh Yelsey committed to Yale last week.

FOOTBALL

David Collett of Esperanza, a 6-4, 295-pound offensive tackle and a first-team All-Sunset League selection, has committed to Arizona State, Esperanza Coach Gary Meek said.

* John Morris of Servite has committed to Fresno State, Servite associate athletic director Vince Lombardo said. Morris, a 6-2, 230-pound tight end, caught 22 passes for 417 yards for the Friars.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Lisa Faulkner and Katie Sturgeon have signed to play women’s basketball at UC Irvine, school officials announced Tuesday.

Faulkner is a 5-foot-5 guard from Oregon City (Ore.) High. She averaged 13 points and six assists last season.

Sturgeon is a 6-2 center from Mountain Top Crestwood (Pa.) High.
