1 Killed, 6 Hurt in Van Nuys Traffic Accident

VAN NUYS — A woman in her 40s was killed and six people injured, two of them critically, in a traffic accident Tuesday night, Los Angeles fire officials said.
Four people suffered minor injuries in the accident in the 7500 block of Balboa Boulevard shortly before 9:30 p.m., Fire Department spokesman Bob Collis said.
The two-vehicle accident involved a minivan and a BMW sedan.
In addition to the woman who died, four other victims were in the BMW--including a 27-year-old man and another woman in her 40s, both of whom suffered critical injuries. Two other passengers, women ages 21 and 19, suffered minor injuries.
A man and woman, both 48, were riding in the minivan and suffered minor injuries. All the injured were taken to local hospitals.
