In the Century League:

Foothill 1, Canyon 0--Kelly Yukihiro had six saves for host Foothill (7-7-5, 6-1), which remained in a first-place tie in league with El Modena. The shutout was Yukihiro’s 10th of the year. Laura Morris scored the game’s only goal in the 50th minute for the Knights.

In the Olympic League:

Calvary Chapel 2, Brethren Christian 1--Chelsea Schwenn’s second-half goal was the difference for host Calvary Chapel (10-7-4, 2-2-3). Jennifer Cefalia also scored for the Eagles. Ashley Pyle scored on a penalty kick for Brethren Christian (12-2-2, 4-1-2).

In the Orange League:

Brea Olinda 2, Anaheim 0--Kelly Nakagawa and Vicki Gonzalez each scored second-half goals off assists from Tiffany Scott for host Brea Olinda (12-6-3, 6-0-1), which remains tied for first with Valencia. The two teams meet Thursday.

In the Sea View League:

No. 3 Aliso Niguel 5, Irvine 1--Tessa Baker had two goals and Leigh Logsdon and Lauren Wolf each scored first-half goals for Aliso Niguel (12-1-3, 4-0-1), which remained in first place.

In the Serra League:

No. 2 Santa Margarita 2, Mater Dei 1--Liz Bartlett’s goal five minutes into the second half proved to be the game-winner for Santa Margarita (15-3, 5-0). Angela Chavez scored for Mater Dei (8-7-2, 1-3-1).

In the Sunset League:

No. 5 Esperanza 3, Huntington Beach 0--Janelle Raaff, Julie Handy and Erin Clewett scored goals to lead first-place Esperanza (14-5-2, 6-1).

No. 7 Marina 2, Fountain Valley 0--Heather Kindschi scored both goals on free kicks for Marina (15-6-3, 5-1-1), which remains in second place. Cari Delaney and the Viking defense recorded their 12th shutout of the season.

In the Olympic League boys’ soccer:

Calvary Chapel 0, Brethren Christian 0--Visiting Calvary Chapel had 11 shots stopped by Brethren Christian goalkeeper Mike Tasker. Calvary Chapel (10-8-1, 4-2-1) remains in third-place in league and can clinch a playoff berth with a win Friday over fourth-place Maranatha at Calvary Chapel.

In Century League boys’ basketball:

Canyon 71, Foothill 70--Derron Putnam hit a spinning layup with two seconds left to win it for visiting Canyon (12-10, 5-2). Chad Bigler had 29 points for Foothill (11-12, 4-3).

In nonleague basketball:

Hawthorne Life and Light Christian 58, Tarbut V’Torah 57--Noam Dashti scored 28 points in Tarbut V’Torah’s loss.

In Century League water polo:

No. 2 Villa Park 10, Canyon 5--Cindy Henn scored five goals and Danee French scored two as Villa Park (15-4, 2-0) pulled away from Canyon (12-4, 1-2), with a four-goal fourth quarter. Lauren Volcan scored two goals for Canyon.

In the South Coast League:

No. 7 El Toro 10, Mission Viejo 4--The Chargers took one step closer to winning their first league title as Ke’ala Carter scored three goals and Katie Hedley and Adrian Beaney added two each for visiting El Toro (11-8, 4-0). Charger Amanda Deatherage had seven saves.

In Pacific Coast League wrestling:

University 63, Corona del Mar 18--With six forfeits by Corona del Mar, University breezed through the Sea Kings’ lineup, winning the schools’ first league title since 1992.
