Lai Puts Chaminade Home Free

Cynthia Lai sank two free throws with three seconds remaining and Chaminade High escaped with a 56-55 victory over Louisville in a Mission League game Tuesday night at Chaminade.

Lai had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles (8-7, 1-2 in league play), who blew a nine-point halftime lead and fell behind in the fourth quarter.

Christina Zdenek added 17 points and five steals for Chaminade.

Meghan Wiser scored 19 points and missed a potential game-winning shot at the buzzer, and Sarah Kelso added 21 points for the Royals (4-7, 1-2).

Notre Dame 96, Flintridge Sacred Heart 42--Sierra Hauser-Price made 16 of 23 shots, scored a career-high 36 points and had eight steals and four assists for the Knights in a Mission League victory at Notre Dame.

Nikki Imaromna added 14 points and seven steals for the Knights (11-5, 2-1), who had 29 steals.

Saugus 46, Burbank 44--Julia Bradley scored on a layup with 20 seconds remaining, and the Centurions rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to win a Foothill League game at Burbank.

Bradley had 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Brusta Brown added 16 points and five steals for Saugus (7-9, 1-1).

Christine Ketenekian scored 18 points for the Bulldogs (0-2 in league), who missed two shots in the final seconds.

Ventura 84, Dos Pueblos 58--Alex Gientke scored 25 points and Kristine Gleisberg added 15 for the Cougars in the Channel League victory at Dos Pueblos.

Renee Jimenez scored 14 points Katy O’Brien had 11 for Ventura (14-0, 2-0), the No. 1-ranked team in the region by The Times.

Crescenta Valley 61, Hoover 45--Sinnamonn Garrett had 22 points, 10 rebounds and four assists for the Falcons (11-6, 1-1) in a Pacific League victory at Hoover.

Buena 76, San Marcos 41--Kelly Greathouse had 31 points and 10 rebounds, and Courtney LaVere scored 20 points for the No. 2-ranked Bulldogs (13-4, 1-0) in a Channel League game at Buena.

Littlerock 54, Highland 43--Kristen Robinson scored 17 points for the Lobos in a Golden League game.

Jolene Haywood and Kristel Jones each scored 10 points for the Lobos (13-4, 2-0), ranked No. 9.

Lamara Burleson scored 19 points for Highland (7-10, 1-1).

Oak Park 67, Carpinteria 46--Michelle Bregar had 23 points and 12 rebounds, and Holly Stewart added 13 points and 25 rebounds for the Eagles (7-6) in a Tri-Valley League victory at Oak Park.

Faith Baptist 58, L.A. Lutheran 12--Rose Sierra had 12 points, 13 assists and 12 steals for the Contenders in a Heritage League victory at Faith Baptist.

Brianna Weilbacher added 12 points and 13 rebounds for Faith Baptist (9-3, 2-0).
