It’s a season of milestones for region girls’ coaches.
In December, Dave Murphy of Simi Valley surpassed 300 victories and Dave Munroe of Hart passed 200.
Joe Vaughan of Buena, who had won a state-record 597 entering Thursday night, could be going for No. 600 next Thursday in a pivotal Channel League game at top-ranked Ventura.
Rich Allen of North Hollywood is five victories shy of 300.

The Pacific View and Channel leagues each have five teams, leaving one team in each league with a bye every game night.
For the second consecutive season, the leagues have agreed to have the teams with byes play each other to sidestep any scheduling problems.
The home-away matchups this season: Ventura vs. Camarillo; Buena vs. Rio Mesa; Channel Islands vs. Santa Barbara; Oxnard vs. Dos Pueblos; Hueneme vs. San Marcos.
The Channel League led, 2-0, entering the Hueneme-San Marcos game Thursday night. Buena defeated Rio Mesa last week and Santa Barbara upset Channel Islands on Tuesday.
