Sylmar 55, Monroe 54--The Spartans seized sole possession of first place in the Valley Mission League behind 17 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists and six steals by guard John Valdez at Monroe.

Robert Palafox made a three-point basket and was fouled with 20 seconds left to pull the Vikings (14-6, 4-1) to within one.

However, Palafox, who scored 20 points, missed the free throw.

Jeff Morris had 10 points and 11 rebounds and five blocked shots for Sylmar (9-9, 5-5).

Chatsworth 70, El Camino Real 60--Shayne Berry had 20 points and seven assists, and Ronald Ruffin added 18 points for the Chancellors (7-12, 1-4) in a West Valley League victory at El Camino Real.

Justin Saad-Anthony had 19 points and nine rebounds, and David Rebibo added 16 points for El Camino Real (4-11, 0-5), which committed 18 turnovers.

Granada Hills 65, Birmingham 63--The Highlanders blew a six-point fourth-quarter lead but rallied in overtime in a West Valley League game at Granada Hills.

Rufus Park had 15 points and seven rebounds, and Midwin Francis had 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Highlanders (11-9, 3-2).

Hollywood 68, Canoga Park 66--Leon Usher made a three-point shot as time expired but the Hunters’ comeback fell short in a Sunset Six League game at Hollywood.

Cecil Brown scored 11 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter and Jammie Harris added 21 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots for Canoga Park (8-11, 1-4).

Richard Wright scored 16 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter for the Sheiks (11-10, 3-2).

Notre Dame 72, Alemany 64--Michael Luderer and Cody Pearson combined for 50 points in the Knights’ Mission League victory at L.A. Baptist High.

Luderer had 26 points, including four three-point baskets, and grabbed 10 rebounds. Pearson had 24 points and 20 rebounds for Notre Dame (16-5, 5-2), ranked No. 7 in the region by The Times.

Reny Maynard had 17 points for the Indians (6-14, 1-6).

Westlake 83, Moorpark 79--Tyler Adamczyk scored 14 of his 32 points in two overtime periods for host Westlake in a Marmonte League game.

Adamczyk also grabbed eight rebounds and Adam Mazarei scored 21, including five three-point baskets and five assists for the Warriors (12-9, 2-5).

Westlake held a big advantage in free throws, making 30 of 38 attempts. Moorpark made 17 of 25.

Todd Tomlinson had 23 points, eight assists and five steals, and Ryan Moser had 22 points, including the two-point shot that forced the first overtime for the Musketeers (14-6, 3-4).

Agoura 58, Newbury Park 54--Andre Woodert scored 14 points for the host Chargers (4-16, 2-5), who led by 12 points entering the fourth quarter and held on to defeat the Panthers in a Marmonte League game.

Will Svitek scored 18 points for Newbury Park (10-8, 3-4).

St. Bonaventure 72, Fillmore 37--Michael Perez had 14 points, nine assists and six rebounds, and Chris Saunders added 13 points and 14 rebounds for the Seraphs (15-3, 3-1) in a Tri-Valley League victory at St. Bonaventure.

Bell-Jeff 76, Cathedral 57--Carlos Arroyo had 19 points and 14 rebounds, and Casey Markovic had 26 points and 10 rebounds to lead Bell-Jeff (17-4, 4-1) in a Santa Fe League game.
