A college preparation seminar for high school athletes and parents will be held Feb. 5 at Diamond Bar High.

The event, in its fifth year, is open to families from throughout the Southland, but is limited to 500 participants. Admission is free.

The seminar was initiated to inform students and parents about college and financial-aid opportunities and the process that must be followed to ensure consideration, said Mike Shay, the organizer of the event.
