For the record, Sierra Hauser-Price had no idea she was Notre Dame High’s career scoring and steals leader.

Until Thursday night.

She learned of her place in school history during a ceremony before the Knights’ Mission League girls’ basketball game against Chaminade at Notre Dame.

Hauser-Price was presented with a gold-colored basketball, signed by her teammates, that noted her scoring record.

“She didn’t know because I didn’t want her thinking about it,” Case said. “I didn’t want it to be like when a guy is going for his 3,000th hit in baseball and all the pressure is on.”

Hauser-Price broke Valery Brady’s scoring mark of 938 points on Jan. 11 against Flintridge Sacred Heart. She entered a game Thursday night with 1,005 points. She broke Luisa Parra’s steals record of 191 on Friday against Harvard-Westlake.

What has the junior guard meant to the Knights?

“You mean, besides everything?” Case said.
