Kettler’s Triple-Double Lifts St. Margaret’s

Monique Kettler, a 6-foot junior center, had a triple-double to help St. Margaret’s defeat Connelly, 58-42, in an Academy League girls’ basketball game Friday at St. Margaret’s.

Kettler finished with 21 points, 21 rebounds and 10 blocked shots for the Tartans (4-9, 2-4 in league). Diane Kelly scored 29 points, including seven three-pointers, for Connelly (8-9, 4-4).

In another Academy League game:

Fairmont 62, Southern California Christian 13--Beth Ann Costanzo had eight points, 20 rebounds and five assists for Fairmont (12-5, 5-2). SCC is 2-10, 0-8.

Capistrano Valley Christian 46, Downey Calvary Chapel 33--Bethany Thom scored 28 points for the host Eagles (14-5, 7-1). Calvary Chapel is 15-5, 6-1.

In the Century League:

No. 8 Foothill 65, Villa Park 38--Junior Kristen Mann scored a game-high 27 points to eclipse the 1,000-point mark in her three-year career at Foothill. She also had 12 rebounds, five assists and three blocked shots.

Senior Chavaughn Brown added 16 points for Foothill (14-7, 6-0).

In the Freeway League:

No. 1 Troy 76, Sonora 36--Veronica Johns-Richardson had 30 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and five steals for visiting Troy (19-3, 6-0). Katie Hardeman had 19 points and six steals for Troy.

La Habra 54, Fullerton 26--Diana Fukushima scored 16 points, including four three-pointers, and Ranay Dato had 14 points and 13 rebounds for host La Habra (10-12, 3-3).

Sunny Hills 51, Buena Park 18--Kim MacKeand had six points, 13 rebounds and five assists and Kristen Fong scored 19 points for visiting Sunny Hills (10-12, 4-2).

In the Garden Grove League:

Bolsa Grande 58, La Quinta 28--Debby Baeder scored 22 points for host Bolsa Grande (4-16, 2-6).

Garden Grove 60, Rancho Alamitos 22--Gloria Rojas scored 24 points and had seven steals for host Garden Grove (10-13, 6-3).

Santiago 64, Los Amigos 52--Oe Sualua had 20 points, 12 rebounds, three blocked shots and three assists for Santiago (15-8, 7-2).
