Nordhoff Beats Par, Oak Park

Nordhoff High shot a school-record one-under-par 359 and won the third of six Tri-Valley League boys’ matches Thursday at Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai.

Tommy Hajduk and Mike Bensley each shot a three-under-par 69 for the Rangers, who finished 10 strokes better than Oak Park.

Oak Park remained in first place with a three-match stroke total of 1,146, 22 ahead of Nordhoff.

COLLEGE SOFTBALL

Canyons 12, Citrus 1--Sandra Rodriguez had two doubles and two runs batted in for the Cougars (24-4, 13-0) in a WSC Southern Division game at Citrus halted after six innings because of the eight-run rule.

BOYS’ TRACK

Saugus 68, Burbank 63--The Centurions swept four events and won a boys’ track meet for the first time since 1995 at Burbank.

Ron Taylor ran a 54.7 in the 400 and Charles Kazmar recorded a distance of 49-0 1/4 in the shot put for Saugus (1-3, 1-2).

Nordhoff 103, Malibu 18--Jon Hall clocked a school-record 10.8 in the 100 meters for Nordhoff (3-1, 1-0) in a Frontier League meet at Malibu.

GIRLS’ TRACK

Rio Mesa 92, Agoura 35--Porchea Carroll won three events for host Rio Mesa (5-0) in a nonleague meet.
