Davidson Is Turning Into Matadors’ Marathon Man
Sophomore left-hander Andy Davidson pitched his second consecutive complete game and only the third this season for Cal State Northridge, limiting Cal Lutheran to two hits in a 7-2 victory Tuesday at Matador Field.
Davidson (4-6), from Hart High, struck out four and walked none. He held the Kingsmen (25-9-2) scoreless through eight innings before allowing a run-scoring single by Eric Medina. Cal Lutheran’s second run was unearned.
Davidson went the distance April 21 in a 6-1 loss at Missouri.
Northridge (19-29) took a 3-0 first-inning lead against Tom Canale (10-1).
Pierce 11, Citrus 1--Traviss Hodge had four runs batted in, two on a double during a four-run first, in a Western State Conference Southern Division game at Pierce (22-12, 17-8 in conference play).
Jack Cassel (6-2) allowed eight hits in eight innings.
Valley 13, Bakersfield 10--Paul Ramirez had two home runs and four RBIs for the Monarchs (11-22, 6-19) in a WSC Southern Division victory at Valley.
Moorpark 18, Ventura 3--Tony Murphy hit grand slam and a two-run home run, and Brandon Voorhees had four hits, including a home run and a double, for the Musketeers (17-19, 14-11) in a WSC Southern Division game at Moorpark.
