In Division II:

La Mirada 5, Trabuco Hills 2--The Mustangs’ offensive onslaught came to an end at home. After scoring 39 runs in three games, Trabuco Hills (20-10) was held to only two runs by visiting La Mirada (22-7-1).

The Mustangs, a wild-card entrant that lost a three-game lead and the South Coast League title with four games remaining to Capistrano Valley, upset top-seeded University in the first round.

In Division IV:

San Luis Obispo 7, Western 4--Shane Stover singled to break a 4-4 tie in the sixth inning and gave visiting San Luis Obispo (21-7) the quarterfinal victory.

Travis Fugler singled to drive in two runs in the same inning. Western (16-13) scored on two-run home runs by sophomore outfielder Gabriel Reina in the second inning and junior infielder James Simpson in the fourth. Senior Jason Zollan pitched five innings for Western, but was relieved by sophomore Jordan Clark in the sixth.

In Division V:

Sun Valley Village Christian 3, Calvary Chapel 2--Jeremy Gonzales (12-0) pitched a four-hitter with 12 strikeouts and four walks, and hit a two-run home run during a three-run sixth inning for Village Christian (18-5). Joe Carrier had a run-scoring single followed by Kyle Christensen’s run-scoring double in the second inning for Calvary Chapel (17-7).
