Aliso Niguel Freshman Wins Sea View Title by Seven Shots

Leisl Hasbrouck of Aliso Niguel shot a two-over-par 74 Tuesday at Redhawk in Temecula and won the Sea View League individual championship by seven strokes over defending champion Stella Lee of Irvine.

Hasbrouck, a freshman, trailed Lee by a shot after shooting 83 in sloppy conditions Monday, but used a torrid back nine Tuesday to finish with a two-round total of 157 and claim the title. She had three birdies and shot two-under-par 34 on the final nine holes.

Laura Molnar of Laguna Hills shot 88-93--181 and finished third. Candy Lin of Aliso Niguel (90-92--182) and Charmaine Erasmus of Aliso Niguel (98-88--186) completed the top five.

Lee, a senior who shot 82-82--164, joins Hasbrouck as automatic entries in the Southern Section finals Nov. 21 at Mission Lakes Country Club in Desert Hot Springs. Molnar, Lin and Erasmus are likely to advance on a petition to the Southern Section.

In the Pacific Coast League finals:

Angela Won wins--University’s Angela Won shot 10-over-par 156 for 36 holes to win medalist honors at San Clemente.

Won advanced to the Southern Section finals, along with teammate Sunny Lee (166).

University’s Michelle Barth (176) and Corona del Mar’s Taylor McCormick (171) and Allison Schauppner (178) are likely to advance on a petition.

In the South Coast League finals:

Cho wins easily--Dana Hills junior Carling Cho, the defending league champion, shot six-over 150 for 36 holes at San Luis Rey Downs, 27 strokes ahead of the second-place finisher, Melissa Patterson of San Clemente.

The two qualify for the section finals. Dana Hills’ Brittany Tall (182) and Andrea Dupray (185) and San Clemente’s Whitney Patterson (188) are likely to advance on a petition.
