Girls Invited to Sign Up for Softball

Girls ages 5 to 18 are invited to sign up for the 2001 season of the Thousand Oaks Girls Softball Assn.

Sign-up sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 18 at the soccer fields on Janss Road across from the Thousand Oaks Library; and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 18, 19, 25 and 26 at Vons, 2048 E. Avenida de los Arboles, and Ralphs, 1332 N. Moorpark Road.

League fees range from $70 for younger girls to $115 for older girls, and cover the cost of uniforms and supplies. Discounts are available for sisters, or for those who sign up before Nov. 19.

Girls who sign up will be assigned to one of about two dozen local teams, following skills tryouts scheduled for January. The season runs from March through May. The league typically includes about 500 players each season.
