El Dorado Suspends Seven Players From Its Football Team

El Dorado High officials suspended seven starters from the football team for an alleged hazing incident. None of the players participated in the Golden Hawks’ game against Katella Friday night, boys’ Athletic Director Carl Sweet said.

Seniors Karel Taska, Jeff Mathison and John Guydon and juniors Joe Turgeon, P.J. McNiff, Greg Vickers and Jacob Woodley were suspended Thursday for five days. The seven participated in the videotaping of a junior varsity player who was forced under a shower and into a locker on Wednesday.

The group gave the videotape to assistant coach Brian Wolf, believing he might want to use it in a video he was making. Wolf turned the video over to Assistant Principal Bob Parish.
