Chatsworth 28, Venice 27--Joe Shumpert scored on a five-yard run with 1:04 remaining and Tom Colley’s point-after kick lifted the Chancellors at Venice.

It was Chatsworth’s only lead of the game.

Venice (6-4), which led 21-7 in the second quarter, returned the kickoff to the Chatsworth 41 but had a fourth-down pass into the end zone fall incomplete as time expired.

Chatsworth (4-7) scored just before halftime on a four-yard run by quarterback Jason Moss and pull within 21-14. Moss completed 10 of 21 passes for 139 yards and one touchdown. He hit Fred Brewer on a 27-yard touchdown play in the first quarter. Brewer had five receptions for 60 yards.

Shumpert, who rushed for 146 yards in 24 carries, scored on a nine-yard run in the third quarter.
