Doubles Teams From Region Set for Tennis Junior Sectional

Fourth-seeded Andrew Lieu of Thousand Oaks and Derrick Bauer of Marina del Rey will play in the boys’ 18 division semifinals of the U.S. Tennis Assn. Southern California Junior Sectional doubles tournament on Saturday at Los Caballeros Racquet and Sports Club in Fountain Valley.

Lieu, a junior at Thousand Oaks High, and Bauer will face the No. 2-seeded team of Jeff Kazarian of Rolling Hills Estates and Rylan Rizza of Rancho Palos Verdes.

Lieu and Arpi Kojian of Santa Ana will play Mark Contreras of Temple City and Michelle Stewart of Pasadena in the 18 mixed doubles quarterfinals.

Seventh-seeded Alexandra Maclennan of Los Angeles and Georgette Wright of Burbank will face top-seeded Brittany Reitz of Newport Beach and Anne Yelsey of Corona del Mar in the 18 quarterfinals.

Fourth-seeded Brooke Borisoff of Agoura Hills and Lauren Perl of San Diego will play No. 2-seeded Erica Sauer of Somis and Riza Zalameda of Los Angeles in the other semifinal.

Second-seeded Borisoff and Brian Morton of Costa Mesa will play Bakersfield residents Kelly Pfister and Jordan Widelock in the 18 mixed doubles quarterfinals.

Valencia’s Jenny Munroe and Adam Davidson will face third-seeded Sauer and Stephen Amritraj of Calabasas in the 18 mixed doubles quarterfinals.

Wright and Garrett Leight of Los Angeles will play Daron Moore of Studio City and Jonathan Tragardh of Pacific Palisades in the 16 mixed doubles quarterfinals.

All finals are scheduled for Sunday.

* A free team-tennis clinic for high school players is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 9 at Pacific Tennis Club in Westlake Village.

* Players are needed for El Camino Real High’s alumni games.

The girls’ game will take place at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, followed by the boys’ game at 7:30 p.m.
