Lakewood St. Joseph (22-3) vs. La Habra (20-1)
1 TODAY CYPRESS COLLEGE
The Division II-A final is a rematch of the 1998 final and it also features two of the best players in the section: USC-bound Keao Burdine of La Habra and Colorado State-bound Melissa Courtney of St. Joseph. The only common opponent the teams had was Los Alamitos, and both teams won in three games. La Habra wasn’t challenged much in league, winning 30 of 31 games, and its only loss was to Sunset League co-champion Esperanza. St. Joseph has played the tougher schedule and should be favored, but this is La Habra’s chance to prove it is as good as its record.
