VENTURA COUNTY FOOTBALL ROUNDUP
Westlake 26, Irvine Woodbridge 14--Jonathan Contos and Kasey O’Brien combined for 322 yards rushing and each scored two touchdowns at Westlake (6-1).
O’Brien’s 10-yard scoring run late in the third quarter put Westlake ahead, 19-14, for its first lead since scoring on its opening possession. Contos made it 7-0 with a 43-yard run.
Contos carried 15 times for 191 yards, but left after his second score, a 41-yard run with 5:30 to play in the third quarter, because of an asthma attack.
O’Brien replaced Contos and rushed 15 times for 131 yards, and finished the scoring with a 47-yard run with 1:48 to play.
Kent Sowell of Westlake completed 10 of 28 passes for 136 yards with two interceptions.
