There are faster ballcarriers. There are shiftier ones, too. But the toughest runner to bring down might be Isidro Medina of Sylmar.

Medina, a 6-foot-3, 235-pound senior, delivers a serious blow to any defender in his path.

“He is a very good north-south runner,” Sylmar Coach Jeff Engilman said. “It’s fun watching him run over people.”

Between collisions, Medina has rushed for 445 yards and nine touchdowns, averaging 7.3 yards a carry. He had 110 yards in the Spartans’ 28-26 victory over Kennedy on Friday.
