A boisterous crowd of 500 had barely settled in its seats when freshman John Giangregorio scored on a three-yard run on Oaks Christian’s second play from scrimmage for the first touchdown in the Lions’ history.
The school opened Aug. 28 and met Bell-Jeff on Friday in the first of a 10-game independent junior varsity schedule.
“Have you seen anything better than this?” said Coach Bill Redell as he scanned the school’s 2000-seat stadium. Redell coached at Crespi and St. Francis.
Giangregorio scored on three other runs and had 106 rushing yards by halftime as the Lions built a 30-0 lead.
