Royal 14, Saugus 6--The Highlanders survived 108 penalty yards and a scoreless second half to outlast Saugus at College of the Canyons.
Royal’s James Cox completed 10 of 21 passes for 97 yards, including touchdowns of nine and 24 yards to Lance Dibene and Doug Hartman, respectively.
Chris Ahlheim completed a 15-yard touchdown pass to Tim Carter just before halftime for Saugus’ only score.
Ahlheim completed 14 of 26 passes for 147 yards.
