Capistrano Valley Christian 22, Vista Tri-City Christian 0--Jamie Bray scored two touchdowns and rushed for 124 yards in 14 carries to lead the Eagles to victory at Laguna Beach.

Play was suspended with 4:22 left in the third quarter due to Tri-City Christian’s lack of players. Tri-City, a late addition to the Capistrano Valley Christian schedule after Lone Pine pulled out of its scheduled game with the Eagles, lost four players in practice this week and had only 15 suited up for the game.

Held to five yards in the first half, Tri-City requested a running clock for the second half. Capistrano Valley Christian opened the third quarter by scoring on a five-play drive, and after only one play on offense, Tri-City requested the game be stopped.

“We have been there before, so I can feel for them,” said Eagle Coach Keith Patefield. “Unfortunately, we did not get much benefit from this game. It was like a second scrimmage. The only good thing is that anyone scouting us did not get much out of it either.”

Bray scored from 26 yards for the first Capistrano Valley Christian touchdown midway in the first quarter. Justin Hui kicked a 23-yard field goal with 49 seconds left in the quarter to increase the lead to 10-0.
