Marmonte Keeping Transfer Issue Alive
Marmonte League principals agreed Wednesday to continue investigating a proposal that would restrict athletic eligibility for transfers.
The principals agreed in theory to carry forward a motion to restrict transfers without a bona-fide change of address, and a written plan is expected to be drawn up within a month.
The proposal would then be presented to the four school districts that have jurisdiction over the seven Marmonte League teams--Conejo, Simi Valley, Moorpark and Las Virgenes.
All four districts must agree to restrict transfers in order for it to become Marmonte League policy.
Under the proposal, an athlete who fails to meet change-of-address criteria could be banned from varsity competition for a year.
