Led by the strong running of 6-3, 225-pound fullback Chris Gocong, Carpinteria overpowered the Heralds at Whittier College. Gocong had 116 yards and three touchdowns in 14 carries.
Whittier Christian’s only score came in the closing seconds of the game on a 35-yard field goal by Sam Paulescu.
David Jones led Whittier Christian with 56 yards in 10 carries.
