In another Sunset League game:

No. 4 Fountain Valley 4, Edison 1--Kirin Kumar hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning for the Barons (14-5, 4-0). Edison is 8-8, 1-3.

In the Century League:

Foothill 8-13, Santa Ana Valley 0--0--Courtney Fossatti (9-1) pitched her second perfect game of the year in the first game and Foothill’s Elizabeth Bendig threw a five-inning no-hitter in the second game.

Fossatti struck out 10 and Bendig seven. Neither pitcher walked a batter.

In the Empire League:

No. 5 Kennedy 2, Century 0 (13)--Michelle Turner pitched a perfect game with 16 strikeouts and Loraine Geiger tripled in the winning run for visiting Kennedy (9-5, 1-3).

In the Orange League:

Brea Olinda 2, Magnolia 0 (8 innings)--Katy Perkins pitched a no-hitter and struck out 13 for Brea Olinda (9-6, 3-1). Katie Bottomley was three for four and drove in the only runs with an eighth-inning single.

In the Sea View League:

Irvine 7, No. 8 Laguna Hills 3--Irvine shortstop Kendra Singley had three hits and scored three runs, and catcher Erika Peterson had two hits, including a double, and an RBI. Irvine (9-7, 2-1) outhit Laguna Hills (18-5, 2-2), 11-6, but committed four errors.

Woodbridge 1, Aliso Niguel 0--Casey Christiano singled home Melissa Haffner with the only run for Woodbridge (9-10, 3-0).

In the South Coast League:

Capistrano Valley 2, Dana Hills 1 (11)--Christie Shedd’s single in the bottom of the 11th drove in Daniel Ross with the winning run. Ross had three hits and Brooke Weekley pitched a complete game for her 10th win.

In nonleague boys’ swimming:

No. 5 Capistrano Valley 204.5, No. 3 Fountain Valley 197, Foothill 77.5--The Cougars (7-0) won by taking the top two spots in the final event. Their top team won the 400 freestyle relay and their second team of Brent Nolan, Jon Deliema, Alex Young and J.D. Barranger finished second, .11 of a second better than Fountain Valley’s team.

In nonleague girls’ swimming:

No. 5 Foothill 213, No. 9 Capistrano Valley 186, Fountain Valley 83--Junior Katie Card won the 100 butterfly (1:00.94) and 100 backstroke (1:02.23) and sophomore Ashlee Henson won the 50 (25.26) and 100 freestyle (54.06) for Foothill (9-1).

In Sea View League boys’ volleyball:

No. 5 Irvine 3, No. 6 Newport Harbor 2--Irvine rallied from 5-0 and 10-4 deficits in the fifth game to beat host Newport Harbor, 13-15, 15-10, 14-16, 15-12, 17-15.

Kris Kraushaar had 35 kills and Jay Jensen 30 for the Vaqueros (9-1, 5-0). Blake Tippett had 43 kills for the Sailors (5-5, 3-2).

In the South Coast League:

No. 4 Capistrano Valley 3, No. 9 San Clemente 0--Jared Levy had 20 kills and Nic Vislay 18 as Capistrano Valley (10-0, 6-0) swept San Clemente, 15-9, 15-8, 15-13.
