From Staff Reports

Armand Thomas, a 6-foot-9, 225-pound forward from Compton College and Crenshaw High, has signed to play basketball for Cal State Northridge, the school announced Thursday.

Thomas, who will be a junior next season, averaged 14 points and nine rebounds for Compton last season, leading the team to a 23-14 record and a berth in the state playoffs.

“Armand is a perfect fit for us and our system now that we are moving to the Big West Conference,” Northridge Coach Bobby Braswell said. “The Big West is a tougher conference with bigger and more physical athletes [than the Big Sky Conference]. He is exactly what we need.”
